Cross Keys Shepherd Huts
A pawfect 🐾 stay in Moorhen hut ❤️ As soon as we entered the hut we noticed how clean and beautiful it was. The decor was our style and we have even taken away some ideas for our own home! The view of the lake is magnificent even in the February storm. Everything about this hut was homely comfort and luxury. We took our pooches for a couple's get away and walking around this wonderful lake at any hour was just so peaceful. This site is in a great area, especially for dog walkers like us and people who just want to open the door and step out into the wildlife and all it involves. There's acres fields with great spaces and views surrounding this site. It is also close to all local amenities such as shops, takeaways a large garden center and a pet shop! 🐾They was additional things we found in the hut which came in handy such as all kitchen equipment, milk, tonic water, butter, shower gel, toilet roll. The water ran very hot and the hut was never cold. These extras in the hut made the get away easier and we will know for next time that we can pack lightly which also makes it easier for when we get home. Our host was great and we loved to see her dog too 🐾 They went out their way to put a dog bin up for us as the site is still being set up currently and offered dog bags if we needed them. All round a brilliant place and would recommend to other dog enthusiasts and couples wanting a break of luxury and relaxation. We will defiantly book to come here again and know our dogs are going to love it and feel welcome. Thanks again for a pawfect holiday 🐾❤️

Had such a lovely stay in the Swift hut. The site is so peaceful and the hut is so cosy. It has everything you need and more, and the breakfast bundle was perfect! Won't be surprised when each one gets booked up!

We had a lovely stay, was so peaceful, felt very welcome. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful scenery and the huts were beautifully decorated. We will 100% be returning. Thank you once again.

We were privileged to view the 'Swift' shepherd hut. Owners Toni and Carl are very welcoming and the whole project seems very well planned, down to every last detail. The site is protected by sturdy automated gates leading to a parking area. From here the lakeside shepherds huts are a short walk away, following the gravel path around the main lake. There are two well stocked and maintained fishing lakes with angling facilities for guests. These scenic lakes attract various wildlife, including rare species of birds. The site is somewhat protected from wind, making a tranquil setting with open skies offering views for several miles (and views for stargazers on a clear night). Whilst the site caters mainly for anglers, it also provides a relaxing retreat for others and the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in comfort. The shepherds hut itself felt really spacious thanks to the clever design. It features a leather sofa, dining table with seating, kitchen facilities and a spacious bathroom with large shower. The immaculate decor is classic farmhouse style, with shabby chic accessories. The table cleverly folds down to reveal a full sized bed with a TV on the wall nearby. The heating is controlled by a simple digital thermostat. The hut was very comfortable throughout. We felt compelled to put down our phones (incidentally the EE 4G phone signal on-site is good) and simply enjoy a peaceful evening of board games with a nice takeaway meal. The local facilities are just over a mile away (Indian restaurant, shop and village pub). During our stay we also prepared and cooked food in the hut. The kitchen area has a kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave, hob and even a slow cooker. The facilities are faultless (towels, bedding, cutlery, crockery, pans, etc. are provided). We wish Toni and Carl well with The Cross Keys Farm Shpeherds Huts and feel sure they will be popular!

Had such a wonderful stay at Cross Keys!! So peaceful and tranquil by the lake - just what we needed. Our hosts Toni and Carl were fab, nothing was too much trouble, even carried our luggage across on a quad bike for us. The hut was by far the best I've stayed in!! The biggest shower I've ever seen in a shepherd's hut or caravan equivalent - piping hot water. Underfloor heating in the hut itself kept us toasty on a chilly winters night. Well equipped kitchen, comfy sofa, great tele and super cosy bed ... Could not recommend this place enough. GREAT RETREAT

Have just come home from a really peaceful and relaxing stay in a beautiful Shepherd Hut on a lake full of fish (hubby couldn’t keep up with the onslaught of catches lol). The hut was superbly appointed and was very tastefully decorated with top class furnishings and equipment. Top of the range hob, microwave, fabulous shower room with a great, powerful shower. Everything you could want for a tranquil environment for chilling and fishing for the hubby. Every attention to detail and so pampered by our lovely hosts, Toni and Carl. Nothing was too much trouble. Can highly recommend this jewel in Quadring Fen’s crown.
